Holiday Tuneage

I love Christmas music, but I made a point this year to not start listening to it until December so as not to end up like this guy.

Please, make it stop!

One of my gigs right now has me in retail stores where they play nothing, but holiday tunes from open ’til close. Since I’m only there for a max of 6 hours, I’m happy to wiggle my hips, snap my fingers and hum through all of my favorite tunes. I’ve found that the store’s associates do not feel the same way, not a single one in the three weeks I’ve been working. That’s really a shame. ‘Tis the Season and it only comes, but once a year. Suck it up and enjoy the “O, Holy Night”s, “All I Want for Christmas”-es and “Carol of the Bells”s while it is still seasonably appropriate.

With that in mind, I wanted to share some of my favorite holiday tunes and the ones I blast on Comcast Radio and iTunes!

Auld Lang Syne – Mairi Campbell and Dave Francis (from the Sex & the City Soundtrack)

Carol of the Bells – Celtic Woman (Also really love the Trans Siberian Orchestra version)

A Fairytale of New York – The Pogues

O Holy Night – David Phelps (this man has some serious passion)

Silent Night Medley – Hanson (I think I will always love them)

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas – Frank Sinatra

Colorado Christmas – Nitty Gritty Dirt Band

Where Are You Christmas – Faith Hill

This is my brain on Christmas

Do you prefer secular or religious holiday music? Or are you one of those Ebenezers with no holiday spirit?
